第一次听到达斯汀•霍夫曼这个名字，是在《卡桑德拉大桥》里面。第一次见到达斯汀•霍夫曼真人，是在《Rain man》这部片子里面。据资料上看，他长的比我还矮，在片中，与众多高大的欧美人一比较，还真有点不太和谐。我一度想把《The Graduate》这部片子当成喜剧片来看，片中的Ben，颇有《雨人》中哥哥的影子。一样的焦躁，不安，偏执，有的时候连说话的口气都十分的相似，再配上他那张脸，不演这几个角色真是天理不容。
为什么说我一度会把这部片子当成喜剧片，如果你看了他与人妇第一次偷情的那场戏，你应该就能明白我为什么会这样说。片子的Ben在一个家教严格的家庭中出生，沿着父母为其设定的道路一路前行，直到大学毕业。如果说之前的求学时代，目标是明显的，那么当面临毕业的时候，对未来的迷茫就自然而然的涌上了心头。求学时代，你的目标就是读书，两耳不闻窗外事，取得一个又一个证书，完成一级又一级的学业，不用去考虑未来，因为未来对于你来说就是从小学到中学，从中学到大学。而父母似乎也将你视为一个炫耀的资本，让你盛装出席，周旋于亲朋好友之间，让你身穿潜水服给宾客表演，大声读你的日记。可学业总会有完结的一天，你也总会有跨入社会的一天，当这一天来临的时候，他开始感到迷茫，无助，彷徨，不知所措，对即将到来的未来一无所知，甚至感到恐惧。
就在Ben迷茫彷徨的时候，一个美丽动人，工于心计的父亲多年好友的妻子出现了，对Ben百般的挑逗。很显然，雏儿一般的Ben在人妇强大的气场和自身的精神压力下投降了。两人开始了一段不伦恋情，这是一场没有谈话的交媾，两人之间只有做爱没有交流，Ben在这场恋情中，将自己多年来积蓄的情感，和面对未来的迷茫当成了动力，他是在与寂寞做爱。而这个曾经是艺术系毕业的人妇，变的对艺术毫无兴趣，甚至连当初的历史也不愿谈起。很显然，曾经她也踌躇满志过，也彷徨无助过，但最终还是变的浑浑噩噩，碌碌无为。他们两人都寂寞，都迷茫而无助彷徨。他们都是在和寂寞做爱。片中有个镜头，Ben从游泳池上的垫子一跃而起，就到了人妇的身上。Ben就是这样在现实与迷幻之间切换，直到有一天，人妇的女儿出现。
Ben第一次尝到了爱情的滋味，第一次觉的未来还是有希望的。也许，这是多年以来，Ben第一次是在为自己活着，是自己为着自己的生活和未来而追逐着。虽然最后不伦恋情败露了，恋人离他而去。Ben执着的追寻着，寻着恋人的脚步追寻着，直至恋人婚礼的现场。唯一让我不解的地方，是那个女孩既然答应别人的求婚，也已经步入了教堂，但为什么在最后的关头，在众人的错愕和愤怒指向和Ben一起逃离教堂。也许，在女孩的心中，虽然觉的这个不伦恋情很恶心，很荒唐，但对于现实的反抗，和对爱情的追寻，让她不顾一切的冲下了圣坛，投入到Ben的怀抱中。在公车，他们在众人惊愕的眼光中大笑着，即使对现实反抗的满足，也是在掩盖着对未来不确定性的担心。王子与公主最后终于在一起了，可是故事到这里就断了，王子与公主以后怎么样了？不知道，前途慢慢，究竟是继续的迷茫彷徨下去，还是寻得人生的希望，没有人知道。
就像很多优秀的电影一样，一首好的歌曲往往是画龙点睛之作，甚至会比电影本身流传更广。这部片子有两部插曲《The sound of silence》和《Scarborough Fair》
